Yoshihiro Nakabo

National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology

Yoshihiro Nakabo is the team leader of the Dependable Systems Research Team at the Industrial CPS Research Center of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan.
He holds a PhD in Engineering (Tokyo Univ., JP).
His research covers service and industrial robot safety, safety sensors, and service robots such as nursing care robots, agricultural robots, delivery robots, and other robots. He is also involved in these standardization activities and is a convenor of ISO TC299 WG7 Management system for service robots and IEC TC125 WG6 General requirements for autonomous cargo e-transporters.
He is currently the project leader of the Project to Promote the Development of Robotic Devices for Nursing Care (Environmental Improvement) funded by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).
